The scene editor for Bevy.
Block out levels with brushes and CSG, paint materials, sculpt terrain and play your game without leaving the editor. Your project stays a normal Bevy crate.
Free and open source, licensed MIT or Apache-2.0.The Pure Nature 2: Mountains demo scene by BK, open in Jackdaw.

Build levels from brushes
Draw boxes, wedges and cylinders on the grid. Subtract one brush from another to cut doors, windows and arches, and edit vertices, edges and faces directly. Everything in this screenshot is a brush.
- Vertex, edge and face editing on several brushes at once
- Subtract, intersect and join brushes
- Grid snapping in metres

Pick materials from a browser
Jackdaw finds the texture sets in your project and turns them into materials. Preview one on a sphere, cube or plane, then apply it to a whole brush or a single face.
- Live previews on a sphere, cube or plane
- Per-face materials and UV controls
- Materials stored as files in your project
Sculpt and paint terrain
Raise, lower, flatten and smooth the ground, paint material layers, and let steep slopes switch texture automatically. Scatter trees, bushes and rocks across it, and re-scatter a group with one click.
- Sculpt, smooth, flatten and erode
- Slope-based texturing
- Scatter and detail layers
// Your own component, in your own crate #[derive(Component, Reflect, Default)] #[reflect(Component)] struct Door { locked: bool, key: Option<String>, swing_degrees: f32, }
Use your own components
Add Reflect to a component and it appears in the inspector, ready to attach to anything in the scene. Scenes are saved as text in Bevy's scene format, so you can read and diff them.
- No registration step
- Text scenes you can diff and merge
Over 16,000 entities, still editable
The mountains scene has terrain, water, shadows and thousands of trees, and you can still select and edit anything in it.
